In the Marmaris district of Muğla, where the number of neighborhoods increased from 25 to 30 in the last local elections;
Marmaris Municipality City Council’s new Executive Board has started work to re-establish Neighborhood Assemblies.
Marmaris City Council Executive Board, which held its first meeting at Hisarönü Village Neighborhood Headman’s Office, received information from the villagers about the work done in the previous term and informed the villagers about the work in the new term.
Marmaris City Council President Hakan Öner, in his statement drawing attention to the fact that they aim to establish Neighborhood Assemblies in all neighborhoods in Marmaris, said; “As the Marmaris City Council, we have been defending how important the decisions of the people living in their own neighborhoods are in on-site service, which has been our goal since the first day. Because the people of the neighborhood are the ones who can explain the problem of the place they live in the best and decide what the real needs of that place will be. Last term, when I was the Secretary General of the City Council, I was involved in the establishment of 5 neighborhood councils together with our executive board friends. In this term, as the President of the Marmaris City Council, we will work with all our might to establish neighborhood councils throughout Marmaris. We request everyone who can contribute to their neighborhood to take part in the neighborhood council.”
