Kimai will be the first lab-grown diamond brand to be offered on Net-a-Porter.
Kimai, which has been worn by the Duchess of Sussex and actress Emma Watson, uses solar-powered lab-grown diamonds to create high-quality jewellery with minimal human and environmental impact.
Lab-grown diamonds are chemically and physically equivalent to labelled diamonds, but Kimai says a diamond mining operation would disturb 250 tonnes of shards.
The jewellery business will release its most deviled products, including diamond stud piercings, stacking rings and necklaces, on Net-a-Porter on May 27. Prices range from £195 to £1,675/$255 to $1,995.
Jessica Warch, co-founder of Kimai, commented on the addition of Net-a-Porter as a stockist: “Having the seal of approval and recognition from a global presence and early adopter like Net-a-Porter has helped drive demand for lab-grown diamonds.
“We are delighted to be the first brand in this exciting new category and it gives us a significant boost as we continue to prove that traceability is the ultimate luxury in fine jewellery.”
Lea Cranfield, head of buying and selling at Net-a-Porter, said: “We are delighted to introduce Antwerp-based jewellery company Kimai to Net-a-Porter. Jessica and Sidney are a brand that is both contemporary and timeless, with fine work. Perfect for layering delicate pieces and will add a timeless appeal to everyday jewellery collections.”
Kimai diamonds are created using cutting-edge technology to simulate natural growth in a laboratory. This makes them chemically and physically similar to mined diamonds.
